List it out

I love lists! I seriously write, type and plan everything out. If you saw my work desk you would think I have some sort of list-disorder. Since I'm going to be in school next semester, I need to learn how to be money-savvy. To prevent mindless spending, I've decided to create a visual list of things I plan to purchase and then prioritize them by labelling each either 'need' or 'want'. To ensure that I'm not cheating myself by saying I need everything that I want, I've thought up reasons for why each is labelled the way it is.

Need. Red lipstick. Because - at the moment I am scrounging out the last bit of my MAC Red with a q-tip and a red lipstick is a must have in every girl's makeup bag.
Need. Baggy sweater. Because - Winter is just around the corner. It's time to trade in my tanks and tee's for something a little more weather appropriate.
Want. Striking beret. Because - I would like another beret/beanie in a bright color except I already have like ten sitting in a drawer somewhere. [Unnecessary purchase.]
Want. House Of Harlow earrings. Because - I could do without a new pair of earrings. I usually just wear studs anyways.
Want. MK tortoise ring. Because - I have a bunch of rings that I barely wear; they interfere with my typing and while I'm a working woman, I type all day. [Not practical.]
Need. Canada Goose HyBridge Lite jacket. Because - once again, Winter is coming! I don't want to freeze to death - hense this ultra soft, goose down, flexible, breathable, form-fitting jacket. I'm going to vouch twice for this jacket because I truly think that everybody needs one of these to make it through a Canadian winter. Sometimes a leather jacket, a cotton bomber and a cashmere peacoat just don't suffice.
Need. Thermal pants. Because - right now I sleep in a boy's graphic tee. I'm not too sure if these are actual pants or if they're for lounging. Regardless, I think they make for cute pajamas. [I know I swung this one to a need but I actually don't own pajama pants, therefore, this is a need.]
Want. Prada Candy frangrance. Because - I just purchased Viktor Rolf's Flowerbomb literally two days ago. To purchase another fragrance right now [no matter how beautiful it smells] would be excessive.
Want. Nail Polish. Because - I still have nail polish that I haven't even opened yet. Until I use the rest at least once, I am not allowing myself to purchase another.
Want. Justin Bieber Under The Misletoe. Because - Christmas is still two months away. Come December and this will become a 'need' but until then, it can wait.
Need. Lanvin flats. Because - I actually do need a new pair of simple, black, ballet flats. These shoes aren't exactly cheap but I think that if you're going to invest in something, it should be something that you're going to get good use out of. I could literally go on all day about how great these flats are but you won't ever fully pick up what I'm putting down until you go stick your feet in a pair of these. The best way I can think to describe it is the comfort of an Ugg boot with the impecable style of a Louboutin shoe.

Well, now that my LIST is done, it's time for the best part - shopping!

Trick or treat!

I will admit that at this very moment in time I am stuffing my face with Halloween candies provided from my favorite confection store - Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I'll also admit that I don't feel the slightest bit guilty because it's Halloween; eating mass amounts of chocolate is a given! This past weekend I attended JetSet Crew's Annual Halloween Party at the Stanley Park Pavilion. This was the first Halloween that I actually put together my own costume instead of purchasing one that was pre-made. Well, technically I did purchase a pre-made costume at first... The downside of online shopping is not being able to try anything on. After purchasing a beautiful ballerina costume only to find out [just two days before the event] that a size small is in fact too big, it was on to plan B... I was a vision in white; a bride! This costume was super easy to put together and I also got to practice a little DIY! It was just short of a miracle that I stumbled along the perfect dress at, lo and behold, H&M Children's! Who knew ages 11-12 years could fit an almost 21 year old. After a little stitching and pinning, I managed to transfrom the $39.99, square-necked, 1 inch strap dress into a stunning, sweetheart neck, strapless fit for an actual bride. Once my dress was complete I threw in a white bouquet, a fake diamond ring, some pearls, a pair of white heels and VOILA I was a bride.

Ps. If you're actually getting married, check out Dash Of Blonde for all things wedding.

Boy, is it ever hard to blog while children are knocking at your door every other minute. It's a good thing I have tons of candy for them. Happy Halloween!

Let's Get Graphic

"I slang in my white tee
I bang in my white tee
All in the club, spitting game in my white tee
I bling in my white tee, serve feigns in my white tee
Fuck a throwback, I look clean in my white tee"

OK, I got the point... Dem Franchize Boyz like their white tee's! However, regardless of 'Crime Mob's' love for the classic white, I feel that it is my social duty and obligation to humanity to introduce to you the Graphic Tee. Although I have always been a fan of graphic t-shirts, my most recent obsession came along with one of my latest additions, the Britney! It was back in July that Britney Spears came to town on her Femme Fatale tour and I had the pleasure of watching both her and Nicki Minaj perform. One of my friends was kind enough to give me a shirt from the concert, thus contributing to my love for graphic tee's [if only it were my size]. Although, as clearly stated above, a white tee is very practical for many things [such as 'slang-ing', 'bang-ing', and 'spitting game in'] it is always great to switch it up. Throw on a Graphic Tee with a pair of jeans, khaki's, cargo's, shorts or slacks! These tee's literally go with everything and can transform an outfit from being a total bore to out of this world. Now that is what I call a party on your chest; woop, woop!

Treat those tresses!

For those of you who don't already know of this amazing line, let me introduce to you the SAVIOUR of all hair care products - Moroccan Oil! As of right now, the line consists of: Oil Treatment, Light Treatment, Hydrating Styling Cream, Intense Curl Cream, Curl Control Cream, Curl Defining Mousse, Glimmer Shine Spray, Luminous Hair Spray, Intense Hydrating Mask, Restorative Hair Mask, Moisture Repair Shampoo, Moisture Repair Conditioner, Oil-No-More Scalp Treatment, Dry No More Scalp Treatment and Ceramic Brushes. My two favorites from this line are the Light Treatment and the Luminous Hair Spray.

The Light Treatment is a light oil that instantly absorbs into the hair leaving it revived, strengthened and conditioned. Put a small dollop of the oil on to your hands and work it through your hair starting at the ends. It also reduces drying time which is a plus on those rushed mornings! I use this after every wash!

I had yet to find a hairspray that I really liked up until I tried the Luminous Hair Spray. This strong hold hair spray doesn't leave a sticky or crunchy residue yet is able to keep my hair in place. It is infused with argan oil which adds shine for a healthy glow. For extra volume, spray at the roots of slightly damp-almost dry hair, flip your head upside down and blow dry!

Moroccan Oil products are never tested on animals and whenever possible, recycled packaging materials are used! Enviromentally friendly = BONUS!

In love with LANVIN

I absolutely adore Lanvin flats! I will so proudly admit that these effortlessly elegant ballet flats are the best pairs of shoes to have ever touched my SOUL [spelling error intended]. These beyond fabulous flats provide the best in style, comfort AND arch support; something that is difficult to find in a pair of simple ballet flats. I've already put two pairs on a list of things for my mother to bring me back from Europe. Although these flats may cost you a pretty penny, they are very well worth it! Let me tell you... After an eight hour day in these, your feet will be thanking you.
How can you not fall in love?

Rock My World

Dolce&Gabanna: leather bomber
Emporio Armani: watch
Rag & Bone: shirt
Paul Smith: scarf
DRKSHDW by Rick Owens: jeans
Converse: shoes

Usually I prefer preppier styles but every now and then I like a guy who can ROCK my world! Nothing says sexy like black on black so I chose an all black exterior with just a few hints of color... Mind you, they are pretty big hints. Dark denim is a must have in any man's closet because a dark jean is more sophisticated than a light pair yet still more casual than slacks or dress pants. A leather jacket is the jacket of the season - you just can't go wrong with one. Instead of a tee, I picked a plaid dress shirt to keep this outfit from being too grungy. I have fallen in L-O-V-E with these leather John Varvatos Converse sneakers because they scream cool. I know most of you aren't going to run out and buy a purple scarf but trust me on this, it looks great - however, you can ease yourself in with a grey scarf if you need to. Lastly, add a little bit of arm candy [stack on the same wrist] and you're good to go!

Thanks!

I hope everyone is having an amazing long weekend. The holiday may consist of family gatherings, a WHOLE lot of turkey, stuffing [mi favorita], pumpkin pie and other sweet goodies but the whole point of Thanksgiving is to give thanks! Who knew? On January 31, 1957, the Canadian Parliament stated that "A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest in which Canada has been blessed - to be observed on the second Monday in October." Here is my Thanks...

First and foremost I would like to give thanks to God as I have truly been blessed in all aspects of my life; I give thanks to my family for their endless support; To my best friend for being the sister I never had; To my friends for making every moment of our lifes together exciting; To every teacher, leader and boss for the knowledge and guidance that has been passed on to me; To Brian Hill for being able to turn any one of my bad days into a good one; And finally, to Polyvore for making online shopping a breeze.

Happy Thanksgiving!
